Patients at Bowdon Family Medicine are seen by Chris Salter, MSN, CRNP and Kate Strain, board-certified nurse practitioners, at our office at 307 West College Street, Bowdon, GA 30108. Mike Gaines, MD is our collaborating physician and does not see patients in the office. Bowdon Family Medicine is independently owned and is not affiliated with any other medical practice in Bowdon or Carroll County.
Chris earned his master's degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is board certified by the pediatric nurse and nurse practitioner certification boards. He brings over 22 years of experience, mostly in Emergency and Family Medicine.
Kate earned her RN-BSN from the University of West Georgia in 2015 and her master's from Auburn University in 2021, certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She provides wellness exams and manages chronic diseases.

Dr. Gaines provides physician oversight for our nurse practitioners. He holds a bachelor's in chemistry and a master's in pharmacology from Auburn University, and a doctoral degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with over 35 years of experience in Urgent Care and Family Medicine.
